What is CMap

Concept Map (CMap) is a graphical knowledge representation system, which has received grwoing popularity as a teaching and evaluation tool. In CMaps knowledge is represented by linking concepts to one another and specifying the nature of their relationship on the link.

What are the uses of CMap

Diagram file created by IHMC CMap Tools, a program used for drawing concept maps; stores a visual diagram that depicts an idea using blocks, arrows and text; used for capturing thoughts and ideas during the brainstorming process; also used for sharing ideas with others.

CMap installation from cloud

  • Type "CMap cloud" in URL bar and search it
  • User registration
  • Fill in all the required details in "create account" section as shown below 

  • After filling the details, click on "Create Account " button
  • Activate the account if it is not activated by visiting your email
By using CMap, we have learned on how to embed  CMap content created from it and embed it in our Google sites.

Firstly, let me tell the procedure on how I created CMap content in CMap.
  • Click on the box and give the title
  • Click above the box and click on two headed arrow when it appears on the screen
  • Adjust the arrow to your desired location
  • Follow the same procedure until you finish making CMap

Secondly, to embed CMap content to Google sites, I followed the preceding steps;
  1. After saving the CMap content, open Google sites
  2. Click on "Digital tools" area
  3. Drag content blocks under digital tool
  4. Firstly to create topic, download one photo written as CMap from Google
  5. Left click on plus sign and select upload button
  6. Select the photo from the desired location
  7. Click on open button to upload it
  8. After uploading the photo enable the collapsible and un-crop the photo if it is cropped 
  9. After that double click on the topic section and add short description about CMap below it.
  10. Now, to add designed CMap content drag another content blocks under the topic
  11. Delete the title and description box
  12. Enlarge the photo area
  13. Add photo following same procedure as above from no. 5 to 8
